I'm pulling an old 5700 with Zephyr-Geo out of the dungeon for some OPUS work and I'm trying to connect with our TSC2s with Trimble Access (latest version)

The Zephyr is still an option available with Access, but I can't get a connection with a cable (Yellow, office black or 3rd party one that our IT guy has). Tried several different kinds we have in the office. I'm not sure if I've run into this issue before.

Is this a SW/FW issue or do I need to use an old TSC1?

Could be FW but it could also be that the IO board in the 5700 is not functioning - can you connect it to a PC? And if you have a TSC1 laying around try that as well.

You don't need a data collector in any case if you have an SD card in the 5700, just hard boot it to format the card and then use the blue button. Obviously I would test all of that before deploying.

Duh.....:-$

I just turned the BT off, didn't go the extra step. Survey Controller would automatically override the BT when a cable got plugged in. You'd think they would have left that function alive and well....o.O

If in a pinch, don't forget the PC app, GPS Controller. Its good enough to start up base recording.
