Does anybody know of an AT&T mobile WIFI product that can be configured to work with a TSC2? I got a ZTE Velocity but I can't get it configured correctly to work with my TSC2.

Thanks,
Tom

Make sure to turn off the hotspot's encryption and make it an open network (no password). The TSC2 doesn't work with the encryption.

If you go with open (no encryption), you can still setup mac filtering with many hotspots. You enter the mac address of your TSC2 into a list as an allowed device. That means that no one else can connect, but they can "see" your data (who cares?).

I was working in a large eastern city last year, using a TSC2 and my phone with no encryption. When i would stop to survey a point I would sometimes see devices connecting to my phone. After i setup the mac filtering it was no longer a problem.

I'll have to look at my setup. We use an AT&T hotspot with our TSC2. I remember having to play with it for awhile to work the kinks out but eventually got everything to connect. The newer hotspot has a touchscreen display which I find useful. I'm now able to track when it's a service issue causing problems as the screen will show level of service available. Just another way to troubleshoot.
But to answer your question, yes it can be done.

The one I got was only $0.99 and I don't think it has the required settings for the TSC2. I tried using open (no encryption), but it still wouldn't connect. I decided to try a Novatel MIFI because I heard that they can be configured correctly. Joabmc, if you have the time, please post your setup info.

Thanks,
Tom

I snapped a few shots of the device and current settings

And yes the hotspot encryption is all turned off. Like someone else mentioned, it is open for any user to connect but I really don't care. I really only use it for our GPS to connect to our network.
