I had a key pop out of my TSC2 keypad on Friday. A call to Trimble revealed a $700 replacement fee. Does anyone know of a more reasonable way to replace the keypad? I found the parts on flea-bay for about $75 and was thinking about doing it myself.

The keypad is part of the entire face of the controller. I keypad replacement is a replacement for the entire housing unit - that's why the price is high. I would suggest a full 700 dollar replacement. If not the entire motherboard is exposed to the elements which is a much higher price to fix.

Try atlas electronics they do screens and locators and I think keypads I know screens used to be like 400 so I would think keypads would be cheaper

I just had the keypad replaced on one of our TSC2's and paid the $700. These controllers are 5 years old and the replacement was the keypad and the screen. It is all in one piece.

I have another one that is showing signs it will need replacement soon. Usually the keys get stuck.

This is a lot cheaper than replacing the motherboard which is under the keypad and screen.

Just my $2 worth.

I had the bottom left enter key pop on my tsc2, actually i think my 2 year old at the time pulled it off.

Anyway i just taped it down with a piece of that clear sticky bandage , lasted me 4 years , with a replacement piece of tape every year or so as it got dirty .

It was more than adequate. Try it

If you still have the key, try silicone, apply around the edge with toothpick let dry over night. Worked for years on mine. 🙂

There is a company in the Houston area with an authorized Trimble Tech that can do it. I also have some TSC 2's for sale if need be. For more info send me an email.
