Hello there,

I just purchased a set of these, and one of then doesn't seem to be working as far as the GPS receivers goes. The STAT light just flashes red (not green or orange, which would indicate GPS/GLONASS satellites) once every 2 seconds.

Can anyone familiar with these tell me what that means?

Thanks?ÿ

Also, the option list says that I have the 4km range available. I'm guessing this isn't the same as unlimited, and that I'm indeed limited to 4km baseline?

Thanks again for any info.

Brian

Red stat indicates bad SV. Do a clear NVRam. Take it outside let it get a new ephemeris. Should take about 5 or 10 minutes.

Greens light is NAVSTAR

Orange long is Glonass

Seems you have extended range Hiper Lite Plus with 2.5 miles. Not unlimited. Radios won't work that far anyway.

I've left the receiver for about an hour outside, after clearing NVRam, and it hasn't done anything but blink red. I took the back off the receiver, and connected the antenna lead from that receiver to another one and that receiver started blinking green/orange almost immediately, so the antenna is good. Any other possible cause that isn't a fried board?

Thanks for the info.

What does the options file say for range when the base/rover has the unlimited kms enabled?

If I remember correct the unlimited range in OAF says something like 490km or some large number.

Sounds you have corrupted board. Could be caused by configuring being wrong in DC software. Re-install the firmware, or hardware failure.

Anytime this happens a reset through Topcon Reciever Utility sorts it out. Happens every month or two. There are a few reset options in TRU, try them all.

The Unlimited Ranger option shows up in the OAF list as 511

Though the range limitation only affects the rover, Topcon put the restriction on both the base and the rover.

If doing all of the resets you find in the Receiver Managing Mode in Topcon Receiver Utility [TRU] does not cause the receiver to begin tracking satellites, the board is a likely suspect...

So if my base is limited to 2.5 km it won't affect rtk corrections on the rover, as long as the rover is limitless? Since I'm already in for a penny, I'd like to get as much range as I can out of them.

Any one direct me to some dealers on here able to give me a quote for the OAF upgrade for 20hz refresh and unlimited range for one hiper lite??ÿ

I guess another question is, can you use these with a regular UHF radio? I'm guessing the 915mhz radio complicates things immensely with these.

Thanks again for any info, it's appreciated, glad to have found this resource, just with it wasn't 2 days too late.

That is correct.?ÿ The range restriction that Topcon put in the OAF for their receivers only affects the rover.

Thanks Jerry. Now to figure out how to put a UHF radio in one of these. Wondering if one of the javad lmr400 radios would work; and then how to configure the base to use an external radio. And how much to get the OAF for a rover to make it unlimited:)

Thanks everyone for the info.
