please keep my 8003 in your prayers. she went down today with an E-60 error. she has been my loyal companion since 2004. i have made many a mortgage payment with her. i only hope it is a wiring issue or a short or some other non fatal malady.

godspeed dear 8003, godspeed

Dunno bout a 8003, but on a Topcon GTS-3b:

"E-60 = Displayed when battery power is insufficient for EDM. Charge or replace the battery. Repair is necessry if the error still exists."

How new are your batteries?

I hope that is the ONLY problem,
Loyal

Same here, dunno about the 8000 series, but my 1003 says "an abnormality occurs with EDM (distance measuring system)" "Repair is required"

Snoop,

Fully charge the batteries, and give her another try. My 8005A does the same thing when the batteries get really low. I swap external batteries, and restart the robot, and she generally runs fine.

I know exactly how you are feeling, it's scary to have your bread and butter acting up.

Best of luck, and let us now how it goes.
