If this is not in the proper forum please tell me and I will re-post. I was surfing Ebay the other day and saw this:
Leica TS16 P 1" R500 Robotic Total Station CS20 3.75G Prism. This is complete robotic total station including a data collector and the price is shown as $1,016.00. This just reeks as a price posting error or scam. Anybody else noticed this?
That $1016 figure might be the monthly payment on 24 month financing.
Yep, I think you might be right. I just did not look at it that way but if you click on Buy It Now it shows the total price would be $1,087.12 and calculates payments of $62.90 for 18 months. Sure strikes me as strange. They do note the buyer would have to pay import fees. Still looks like it is TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
That robot is in France. It might not have any of the functions turned on (enabled) and Leica dealers will not help you if you buy the equipment used. You might end up with a $1016 brick. You need a photo showing the inside of the battery compartment that has the serial number and photos showing the entire About menu for the TS and the CS showing what functions are on or enabled. You can email the serial number to Leica to find out if the unit is stolen.
I mean it is a little obvious that it is not real by the user name of the person who listed it "fuqew"
@lurker Had a file name QQQQ many years ago. Finally figured out that was to be pronounced as 4Q.
EBAY is the epitome of the "Buyer Beware" warning that should be heeded. Here is a listing of recent sales for this product.

Great catch! I didn't notice that. One would think people had better things to do with their time.
ALL ebay is full of scams!
