I have to admit, with RTK being so awesome, it's been a while since I did any static work. I would love to collect some observations for the big GPS day tomorrow.

I have Topcon Hiper Pro's. It seems to me there is a simple button operation to make the base log data.. anyone have a tip to get me back in the swing?

thanks. andy

With the Hypers, collecting static was as simple as turning it on, let it update the almanac if its been a while. 5-15 min, then when ready to collect, hit the FN key and the lights will change to show you are tracking. (I haven't used Topcon in about 3 years though)

Trimble R8.... Not so easy... Setting change to turn on static collection with power button, or you have to have a data collector to start the collection.
