How do you keep up with returning phone calls, scheduling jobs, getting out maps, returning emails, etc?...I guess what I'm asking is how do you stay organized?
It is very hard.
I find myself putting out fires most of the time.
Organized? What do you mean organized? The business world is continual chaos brought on by our own desires to please everyone and save the world from itself. The mere concept of being organized is funny.
The rest of my day will, probably, hinge on a phone call I make in ten minutes.

I use the sticky notes method. use bigger sticky notes for priority jobs.
There are some software packages made for surveyors that may help you a bit. The latest version ofINFO RETRIEVER by AGT looks like a really good package for keeping up with things. I have a much older version that has served me well over the years.

Do they make a sticky note that is 24"x36"?

Aloha, Joe:
There is method called "Getting Things Done." You can search online. There are couple good books about in which you can find on Amazon.com
There is an impressive little application that actually helps with the process it is called OmniFocus. I found this application is indispensable in day to day todo management. I use Mac and I am not sure if there is PC version...You can also buy ipad and iphone apps for it. It will sync with the desktop version. So you will be looking at same list no matter where you are.
Check it out. I am sure there many other similar applications...this the one I use.
I keep an old fashioned orange fireman's helmet nearby.
It helps me feel more manly when I am putting out fires.
I am also grateful to have this same problem lately.
Congratulations! It sounds like you are busy too.
Good problems to have.
I would recommend getting familiar with GOOGLE and all of it's business products. From google drive, calendar, email, tasks, etc. etc. it would be completely mobile with your android phones, tablets and computers. Best part is that they are all free. Except if you actually sign up for business apps with them. Then I think it is $5 per month per account giving you 30 GB of online storage and all kinds of little perks. .02'
