I come to visit here on Sunday mornings and have noticed that not to many folks are on line...now if you look there is usually 20 something, during the week there are 60 something viewin' about this time of day. What is up with Sunday...church or football maybe. Happened to drive from Cincinatti, OH back at the beginning of Jan. on RT 71...couldn't figure out right off how come all the traffic was blowin' by me at 70 mph headin' toward Cleveland. There are 3 lanes wide and it was full at 10 AM, said to the wife must be church...then we got by Columbus, OH and it picked up more. Turned out after a bit we noticed the football logos on the cars. There was a Browns game...soon as we made the turn off to head East, no traffic!!! What do you do on Sunday??

I work...same as every other day!

Today it's trying to figure out a Section that we have been trying to sort out since JUNE (I have lost track of how many field trips are involved so far)! What a MESS!

Also working (a little) on a memorandum concerning ROS/CCR terminology for a County Surveyor, and doing a little programming in anticipation of NAD83(CORS96alpha).

MORE Coffee please...
Loyal

What I have noticed here and on the earlier RPLS forums as well as other venues, is that a lot of the posters will only do so on company time and probably we can assume on company computers. There are dozens of classic examples. So you can draw your own moral and ethical conclusions from that I guess.

But the basic observation is that weekend posts seem to drop way off.

I agree totally, used to be when we had nothing to do, after all of the normal fill in the time stuff...I would go on RPLS to see survey related postings..ONLY<<< couldn't stand the P and R .. Now as an old fart I just like to look at the mind of our replacements!!!

Since the very beginning, the attendance on weekends has been significantly lower than weekdays. For instance, on Friday we had nearly 2,000 visits but on Saturday we had around 1,300.

I'm the opposite. I never post on any forum on a State computer and often during the week I don't have internet due to the State-owned barracks lodgings we are staying at.

I don't think it is a big deal especially if it is work related and I used to post at work in previous jobs but our web nanny is very restrictive. 30 years ago people would talk around the water cooler; the internet just broadens that. People aren't machines after all.

For me it is a matter of discipline, better to just stay off of the forums during the work day and the web nanny won't allow any personal e-mail or facebook which is a good thing, frankly.

I was planning on going to practice at the pistol range today, but now may not due to the showers. The firing line has a roof, so I may go anyway ...

Spending my Sunday up in the air...heading home to Oregon after the Aleutian job. Looking forward to when they invent transporters.

Checked in early. Then off to church. Checking in now. Then off to feed cattle. Maybe take in a movie. Then check in before turning in.

Doing some last minute Beerleg work, then packing for Hawaii. Then cleaning the rats cage, cleaning the apartment, running to store for last minute items, making dinner, and then it's time for some personal maintenance on myself. (Paint toenails, shave girly bits, stuff like that..)

Can't go to Hawaii looking like a ragged Angel. 😉

To disguise my ugly feet!! :-/

At least with red toenail polish they look half way human. I might put some cute hawaiian flower decals on them too, just to spiffy it up. 🙂

OMG TMI

My attempt at humor went sideways.

The OMG TMI was actually aimed at the next item on Angel's list.

The humor was attempting to indicate I was more shocked by the toenail painting than the excess hair in unmentionable places.

LOL Oops! Sorry!! :-O I didn't mean it that way. I was just typing along... 🙂

It isn't THAT bad...I just am very finicky and do not like to have one STRAND of hair on my legs, arms, feet, pits, parts, etc... bad enough I have to deal with thick naturally curly hair on top of my brain. 😐

Girls need to do a lot more maintenance than you fellows to keep things prim and proper. Especially if one is of Italian ancestry. :bye:

A question for the ages....

Why do girls with straight hair want it curly and girls with curly hair want it straight?

I often wonder the same thing. My daughter has a beautiful natural wave to her hair. What does she do? Straightens it!! 😛

Me, I let mine go natural but it really can be a pain in the butt. But it is even more of a pain in the butt to fiddle with it, try to straighten it, etc... So...a little hair goop, a little gloss for the frizz, comb it through with a wide tooth comb, and viola! I'm good to go. 🙂

When I use to have it short and curly, it looked like I had an afro!! :-O Once I let it grow out it tamed itself down. I still wish it was just wavy but hey at least I have hair. (Chemo wiped out quite a bit of it years ago.)

Same reason soft bread gets crunchy when you don't want it to, crunchy snacks get soggy when you don't want them to, your coffee gets cold, while your beer gets warm.

It's Murphy at work.
