is there an option in Starnet to use vertical angle instead of zenith angle?
Larry: not that I can see in Star*Net, but I recall that some program (not sure which one) treated it as a VA if less than 45?ø, and as a ZA if between 45?ø and 135?ø.
Geolab has separate record types for Zenith (ZANG) and vertical (VANG).

Larry:
I could swear there is, but I can not find it in the manual. Still looking.
I'm pretty sure there's a VA (aka elevation angle) option, but I'm away from the office and unable to check.
I could have sworn there was one since I've been using Starnet longer than I've had an instrument that read zenith angles instead of vertical.
But I just looked at an old data file, and it looks like I only used horizontal distances and did a 2D adjustment.
There is a "V" option (in Version 5 anyway), but it only handles zenith angles or vertical differences.
Thanks.
I've used Starnet since it was launched, and I have a pile of vertical angle notes, so i assumed StNet would have an option.
(It's really not needed. I just add 270?ø. (I was foolishly subtracting from 90.))
But I'm a little surprised that it's not a dot option.

I agree, it does seem to be a significant omission. Maybe Version 10 will have it...
The only superior evidence is that which you haven't yet found.

After 25+ yrs, and almost everyone using DCs, doubtful.
