Love the pictures and the commentary. You do get around.

As usual...great pics...(psssst the clocks crooked...just sayin')
I bet that trip would make many think twice about how and what to pack.
Thanks for sharing.
Looking at your survival food, I assume you splurged for the shack with a bathroom?
Great photos.
'They don't like much surveyors here....'

Ah.... memories... Good to see that project finally got put on the ground, worked on it during three prior employers over the last 15 years.
Great photo blog again Daryl. Like the iPhone ap.
Are you spending any time in Juneau, or just passing through?
If you get the chance Tim Reed and myself are at AKDOT - 7 mile building, and if you didn't know, an old friend of yours just started working here too.

Daryl,
So you pay $150/NIGHT for a dump with no bathroom? And eat "Firehouse” Chunky Chili, Tim's jalapeno tater chips, curry beans, wasabi and soy sauce almonds, sardines, and blackcurrant preserves? Man I want the toilet paper franchise up there!:-P
Great pics!
Have a great weekend.
I could not stay in that room with the clock being crooked. I would have to rotate it to the correct position.
Daryl did U get a filming fee from the realty tv show?

Me too!!! 😉
Daryl, is the "Fly Wild Alaska" what we were discussing a few weeks ago??? 🙂
When will you be back in Oregon?? Let us know, maybe we can all get together for the 4th. (If your back.)
Daryl,
We flew over Nightmute and Toksook Bay on our way to Tununak last July. We got to pay $50/night to sleep on the floor in the school, but at least we had showers and toilets.
These people live a tough life; they would all start coming out around 1 in the afternoon. They fill their water jugs, empty their honey pots and then cruise around town. The kids hung out around the school and played basketball until 1 am every night.
Gotta love how self sufficient these people are in such a remote region.

Great pictures as always.
Holy Cow
The clock is straight...the rest of the place is all catawampus.
Boy, Kurt, seeing those beat up old legs in your second photo made me sad. One thing that I don't do anymore that I've done a hundred thousand times in my life, is pull something that looked just like that out of the back of some truck.
🙁
