Livin' the dream...

Quittin' time...

Rechargin' my batteries (...get it?)...

How many times has that luggage rack loaded, tipped you over backwards while going up a steep hill?

How many swigs does it take to finish off a Budweiser after quitting time?!

As soon as I figure out how to work the timer on my camera and remember to bring my tripod with me, I will get some pictures of myself working solo. I see your photos look a lot like mine = pictures of equipment.
Ah yes, a little juice for the batteries and a little vitamin B (barley) for he who charges the batteries!

The timer you'll figure out. A little Gorilla tripod for your camera and your ATV will serve as a perfect device for holding it! Lots of good pictures coming?
Maybe we should create a regular Friday afternoon feature:
"This week I was HERE..."
(insert photo of GPS display, or just type lat/long),
"and I saw THIS..."
(insert one or more interesting photos taken at/near that spot).
It's been fascinating to see the variety of work and environments in our cross-section of the surveying world.

Just another day in East Texas. One good thing about a drought is that it makes swamp work much easier.

Two Weeks Ago I Was Here
I saw a V-22 Osprey yesterday on approach landing at MAF. Never seen one in person before which is remarkable since they did a lot of the early flight testing near my casita in Fort Worth. Sounded like a helicopter but all I could see was an airplane. Then I figured out what it was. Camera was in the truck a ways away and I was busy shooting anyway.

I wish I had some flat open land to work in like that.

The monument I was looking for was half way down the sheer 150' cliff in front of me. We didn't break out the harness and ropes for this one. I could tell it wasn't there.

Where is that at?? Looks familiar...like a road I use to drive cutting through from Parker, AZ to Lake Havasu. Beautiful!! 🙂
Right on the money. Its AZ State Route 95 North of Parker.
Ahhh... one of the most beautiful drives I have ever encountered IMHO. I'd move down there anywhere along that drive if I could. Just love it down there!!! 🙂
