I have two stratus units that I purchased a few years ago and never had the need to use them. I would like to set up a control network along a large corridor . I just have the 2 units . I need to locate a source for both controller software and the spectrum post processing software. Can I load the controller software onto any windows based data collector? I understand that these units are well suited to this application. Is the post processing software fairly intuitive in nature or is it a complex procedure to convert collected data to usable ground coordinates for subsequent total station layout along the corridor .
Thanks for any assistance offered.
I'm not sure if you can get Sokkia Spectrum free, but if you can't, you can get any version of Ashtech solutions off their FTP, and it will handle the L1 processing, after you convert to RINEX. I used Spectrum for a few days, and found it so crappy, that it was worth it for me to do the RINEX conversion and continue to use Solutions.
Also, for static, you don't need a field data controller. It's basic one button on/off to record, stop recording. You just have to take notes and write down your occupation times and point descriptions, then key it in manually at post processing. I used Stratus for years at my old job without a field controller. If you really want a field controller, I believe it ran on an Ipaq. I doubt it would run on a Ranger.
I for few years use Stratus kinematic. Possible to work. [email protected]
