I go along for a few years and everything is fine. Then suddenly a crash and I have to do a system restore. Not to big of a deal all my working files are saved so I only lose about a days worth of work.
However, now I can't download my gps units. Sokkia GSR2700ISX.
I have reinstalled sokkia planning form my original disk, as well as sokkia spectrum, and the sentinel USB Driver. Note that the planning is ver. 4.11, and spectrum is ver. 4.10
I have tried to download with planning and spectrum with both the blue and the white cables without any luck.
Any clues? I need HLEP!
thanks,
Dtp
You may need usb drivers for your cable.
Is that different than the Sentinal drivers I've already downloaded?
Sentinel is used to protect your Spectum software. USB drivers are free and do not protect any software. Try http://www.sokkiasupport.com/

thanks for the reminder. The link page that sokkia sends me to does not exist any longer. The usb download files are not easy to find, as a matter of fact I cant' find them!
although i have been told they exist, I have not been able to find Win7 Topcon USB drivers, so we have an old XP box for the downloads
I have now downloaded everything and can access the gps receiver files through the gsr2600 download and the gsr 700 series, but NOT the gsr gnss series.
I mean that spectrum and planning will show files on the gps units but will not download compatible files.
This is getting frustrating, again, just like last time.
success, finally, using spectrum link v 8.2
