my gst52 went inop about 3 weeks ago- got it back today. YAY!!!!
my model has the click stops on the sensativity knob- 1st click -its right there- 2nd click 6-12" down, etc

I was using the crew's last week- it has the constant sweep knob - I hated it.- the crew hates mine with the stops-

Am awaiting the return of a GA52B early next week that I have used since 1983.

I've had the same ax for years. Had the 2 new heads and 7 new handles put on it.

I have the GA52B also, and it's whatever you get used to, I guess but I like the sweep knob rather than the one with the stops. The crew likes the one with the stops. Mine was about ready to go in the dumpster a while back but I sent it in to the place that advertises in POB and they sent it back in working condition (not exactly like new). It started going intermittent and I thought it was a loose wire but I sanded off the battery connections and it works great again.

How come the batteries in these things last for years and everything else goes dead after using it for one day?
