For an ongoing project I'm doing I get a phone call:
Them; "my next door neighbor is taking some of my water!"
Me; "you should call the water superintendent"
Them; "Aren't you supposed to deal with this?"
uhh.......
Well, why not? Might as well. I get all sorts of calls wanting me to appraise their land. Didn't realize that "survey" and "appraise" sound so similar to some people.
Had a call a few weeks back wanting me to label a fence as being "inadequate" in an attempt to force a neighbor to improve the joint fence so that his cattle would stay on his property. Not sure how that relates to surveying.
Well, why not? Might as well.

Yeah, I guess I'm missing out on some work.
I can survey the highway AND ticket speeders at the same time.
Probably be less dangerous than shutting off someone's water.
I usually field 1-2 calls a month asking how much to plant a tree and/or shrubs or mow their lawn..... 😉
