Spent last Sunday morning taking the "Farm Art / DTour" through my home area of Sauk and Juneau Counties of south-central Wisconsin. It is part of the annual "Fermentation Fest" held each fall.

One item of particular interest was stop number 6...

# 6 Art Work: The Surveyor

CREATED BY: JOHN MILLER, MADISON, WI
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH RIVER ARTS INC.

The Surveyor ties together the measuring of land, establishing legal boundaries, and the idea of property, all of which were necessary in establishing our economy and lifestyles. As you drive the DTour, think about how these ideas shape everything you pass by.

John Miller works as a commercial and fine artist. His art focuses on natural spaces and phenomena with a particular interest in how what we see affects what we think we know about the world around us.

LANDOWNER: RON & JUDY CHURCHILL
Ron and Judy Churchill manage Churchill
Farm, where they milk 60 cows on their
220-acre dairy farm.

It's a 50-mile tour +/- with approximately 40 exhibits, all of which I found interesting and the fall colors were breathtaking (even in the rain). If you are in the area, the festival and tour runs through October 21st.

Matt
