Reading over the latest subdivision regs in a nearby county.... Final plat review checklist:
30. The Coordinates of the boundary of the subdivision and show the error of closure, if applicable.
31. The computations of all distances, angles and courses shown on the final map.

A closure report is normal in my neck of the woods. Not sure what they mean by coordinates of the boundary though.
I don't even know what #31 means. 😆

A lot of these things started as ordinance or application requirements in the days of traversing with black transits. Over the years they are 'updated' bit by bit. The result is a disjointed (and at times nonsensical) pile of dung.
When I see this sort of thing I rewrite it in modern terms and 'suggest' a clean-up. I've done it with laws, rules, agency guidance, ordinances, applications, and specs.
The entertainment value of some things cannot be overstated, but helping folks get it right needs to become the goal at some point.
