I was going to buy one about a month ago. Called and emailed numerous times to get some info. I got one call back and the guy said he would email the info I wanted. Never heard from them again even after several more email and phone messages to them.

Its too bad, I was ready to buy. I really don't need a full blown data collector, so this looked like the answer.

Anyways, I am very disappointed in the company at this point.

I've got their DC50 software and have dealt with them several times and they have been extremely responsive -- once I sent in a question on a Sunday night just to get it off my "to do" list and assumed I'd hear back on a weekday and they got back within a few minutes that (Sunday!) night. So something must be up (or down).

I think John Evers and those who assisted him (especially Tim Wessman) did a great job in developing both the hardware system and the software. Unfortunately, they came to market right about the time the economy burped, and sales probably didn't meet expectations.

I use my DC50 just about daily, and am very happy with it. It runs both my Topcon GTS-302 and Geodimeter 640 robot very nicely. I'll be disappointed if it turns out to be a dead-end product, but I've gotten my money's worth either way.

We have two DC50's which we used daily until last month. Support was always a very strong point with Evers et al. Hope they are still in business. If not, I have two units that wll be gathering dust.

Clearcut:

You might check out the Surveyors Tool Kit site stk4hp.com, they have been around for a while the programs are all solid.

Too bad about PSS they appeared to have a good product, well thought out. The manufactures seem to have the data collection marked cornered for now. It still seems like they want a lot of $$ for their products.

Basically, there was a mistake somewhere (nobody is still quite sure what happened to be honest) and the domain server had the entry removed. This means if you typed in the pssllc name in the web browser, it had no idea where to point.

Anyway, it is fixed now.

As for the rest, I was hired by HP and now design and build calculators. John had an incredibly difficult year in terms of finding work (I'm sure you all understand *that* particular issue) and was focusing on keeping food on the table. I spoke with him earlier this week when the site was down and luckily things seems to have turned a corner in his area of Ohio.
