I posted some of these before on Facebook but thought my surveyor connect buddies might like to see them. Spent a few weeks working on the Air strip realignment job in Point Hope...

Daryl, thank you for taking "us", specifically me to places to do not expect to ever get the chance to visit!

Thanks as always for the beautiful shots Daryl. A special thanks for the old ones from "back in the day" - can't wait to show a few of them to the new guys that think the GR8's are "heavy"!
Appreciate you sharing Daryl. Always enjoy your photo blogs. What beautiful and fascinating country.

So Daryl, in one of the photos is a "internet in a suitcase". Can you tell a bit more about that? That looks like something my crew could use.

Ha...I was just in Wasilla...breakfast at the Wind Break.
The internet in a suitcase was not mine but was being used by a geologist I encountered. So I don't have much info, sorry... I did ask him about it...the hookup to satellites was easy but the upload/download speeds were agonizingly slow he said. I think these things are pretty expensive as well.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
