I've been missing in action it seems over the last year, survey wise. Moved to Kentucky to be with my sweety while she finishes school and awaits to take her boards next month.

Most of the time our table looks like this.

Loving this area with it's rich history. I've jumped in to several groups devoted to preserving the downtown area. It's been fun but something is just missing.

I keep seeing things like this area across the street from my new office.

Pins galore. Others at my office (not a surveying or engineering company) walk on their breaks but I go and take pictures of pins.

Nancy finishes up college and takes her boards in May. We have been talking and decided that we are moving to Florida. We both just cannot stand any more winters.

But her profession (radiology) is easily transferrable so no worries for her.

I've decided to get back in the game. I'll bring GPS/GIS to a company somewhere in Florida. Someone will gain a huge leap in technology and expertise in a short instant.

No license for me, nor do I want a Florida stamp. But I will be back in the game once again.

Not sure if we are taking Flo with us or not though.

Yes, it's akin to the Beverly Hillbillies. Our trek.

At one time in my professional career, I was hired by BFW (Bacon, Farmer and Workman, but called Geotech at the time). I agreed to take the job, but then had to turn it down the next day because I was called back from being laid off, which is where I still am.

I don't know how anyone that really likes surveying could ever get it out of their system. I know I couldn't.

Deral,

I'm glad things are going well for you and
Nancy.
LD & I may be able to visit you in Florida
- we have a timeshare in Orlando
that we will probably utilize in 2014.

Deral and Josh

I've got a chapter member working on a location in Paducah for the April meeting.

This year we are going to move around the chapter area. Last month was in Murray.

As soon as I hear from the fellow trying to set up a location, I will let everyone know the location.

Hopefully it will work out.

I heard there was a good turn out in march!
Sounds great. I will catch the location via email. I haven't made it to a meeting
in a while but plan to work on my attendance ...
