Outside using one of my total station to watch the hot air balloons.
Which reminds me all the other things I have used it for.

I have used the total station to look at the stars with the kids. They were amazed at how quickly the stars moved in the sky.

I was working an a mobile home, for a regular client, that had a water leak, and the vapor barrier under the house was sagging with all the water that had collected. I grabbed a two meter rover rod, and used the tip to puncture the barrier to let the water drain out without getting soaked.

I have used the level rod to get a ball out of a tree one time.

We had rented out the local community center, and a few of the balloons had floated up to the ceiling, and I used a prism rod to pop the balloons to get them down from the ceiling because we did not have access to a ladder.

I use the robot and GPS regularly to lay out the soccer fields at the beginning of every season to mark the fields for the first time. It's layout, but sure don't get paid for it, at least with money anyway. It's a blast seeing the kids have a good time all season.

I'm sure I've used different equipment for different things, but those just popped in my head right off the bat.

I've used a 100' chain to snake a pesky sink drain. And yes, I took the leather thong off first.

Wire flags make excellent emergency fence repairs.

Plumb bob = hammer

Also, my wife likes to use flagging of various colors to tie her climbing roses to the fence.

I've used a wire flag in a pinch to put through the trailer coupler if we have lost the pin.

I used a 3/8" rebar one time to put through the trailer bracket on the ATV trailer to keep the ramp from coming down.

Living with all girls my cloth tapes have been used way to many times by them to get their and their friend measurements. Then I always have to convert tenths to inches for them.

A 25' fiberglass rod is good for knocking the snow off the DirecTV dish on the tall back corner of the house.

Looking at the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter mostly.

My Transit is a little less power than my Total Station.

We use flagging and wire flags to make treasure hunts for the kids when we go camping.

Used 4 prism poles and a 25 fiberglass rod to make a quick trap cover for a DJ at a party. Didn't think much about the Prizm pole as lighting rods tell after, but I quess all the electronic equipment under it was just as much.

Flagging to mark luggage at the airport.

Stakes for temporary mends in a picket fence.

Used the robot for laying out pecan trees on the farm.

I use my auotcad and plotter to make personalized wrapping paper for presents.

The metal detector is great for finding keys dropped in the grass.

Flagging = holds together a broken axe 'til the end of the day.

= holds together the sole of a boot 'til the end of the day.

We’d better watch what we say. The IRS may disallow some of our tax deductions.

Chaining pin to re-attach a spare serpentine belt at midnight on an interstate in the middle of a swamp. Actually got it done without soiling my starched longsleeve white shirt. (I was coming home from a lecture.)

Chaining pin now has a 90-degree bend in it though ...
