Don't go there and expect to record a boundary survey plat. They don't know how. They haven't recorded a plat of any kind since 1994 and the current administration has only been there since 1995.

I doubt that Noxubee County has more than 1 or 2 plat books. I've never worked there, but it's a good place for deer hunting.

Imagine

Imagine there are no records
It’s easy if you can
No need to do legal research
Just go survey the land
Imagine all the surveyors
Traversing for days ahah hahh

Imagine there are no courthouses
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to file and record
And no attorneys too
Imagine all the surveyors living life in peace yoo hooo

You might say that I’m a dreamer
But I am not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine no adverse possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for fenced land
Set your monuments in sand
Imagine all the people sharing all the world yoo hooo

You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
Come on out to Noxubee County
And the world will be as one..

My favorite thing about Louisiana is that it is socially acceptable to drink in the middle of the day 😉

The Courthouse Annex on Boston Street was the grand old Southern Hotel, built in 1907. Covington Special Projects Coordinator Jan Roberts hopes to see it become an inn when the new courthouse opens. Mayor Villere notes that Tugy's, first opened in the hotel by Mr. Tugenhaft, is probably the only bar in a courthouse building in the United States

The Courthouse and Tugy's
A lot of research and even surveys were done at Tugy's.
The parish is just completing construction of a $7.7 million parking garage for the new courthouse.

It is very modern and it looks like they may have a starbucks or a drive through daquiri lane within which is legal here in LA.

Franchises available!!!

:'(

From Wikipedia: Noxubee County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of 2010, the population was 11,545 Its county seat is Macon[1]. Noxubee, derived from the Choctaw word nakshobi, is a Native American word meaning to stink

So Tommy, you can say Noxubee County STINKS and not be out of order...

And BTW: That just stinks that you can't record plats. Very odd.

Carl

We tried to record one there this morning. Don't worry, before this trip is over we might also add Jackson County, Sharkey County and Washington County.

It's not odd in Mississippi. It's the norm. No rebar caps either.

Very nicely done, M. Hill.
You deserve more credit than I sometimes give you.

On another note: I once hitchhiked across Mississippi as a young man. I don't know about their recording standards, but, dang, that place is scary, and I'm white. A word to the wise: stay out of the bars if you ain't ignorant.

Hey that was just in good fun. Just like saying people from Ohio are bad drivers....kind of. They can both kill you.

Solly
