Do you mean Geographic Coordinate?
Latitude and Longitude are North and West here in the US.

Exactly!! Oldtimers often used northing, westing coordinates cause it was/is the proper way to calculate positions.

Another thing to consider is that those "grid coordinates" may be a converted "true" number. Those old guys were pretty smart.

I've tried some things to make autocad work nice with them, I've ended up just drawing triangles by addition and subtraction, unless it's a huge coordinate file it works fine, but it's slow and frustrating. I would probably give excel a try if I really had a large file of them, convert them first then import them.

I used to work at an Air Force Base once where they had their own coordinate system. At a point on the base the coordinates were 0+00 in both directions. The point was in the northeasterly portion of the base so the majority of the coordinates were south and west.

The easiest thing to do is turn all your west coordinates to negative, that will solve your problem.

rotate your file 90 ccw

If your talking coordinates, can't the software accept negative coordinates?
If not add an offset to make them eastings.

In excel change the westing to - then you can add a factor to them to change it to positive if you want, then import them

Thanks guys! I knew you'd come through with an answer. Sometimes the answer can be right in front of your face and you just can't see it. This was one of those cases for me.
