Filson has been very good to me, I have a pair of brush chaps that I have been using for 10 years.
Oh yeah thats what im talking about! even has the back pocket!!! i wonder about quality? the price is awesome but makes me leary. inly one way to find out I guess lol. thanks!
As for get hurt.
I had the hoe operator build me a set of sloped stairs to get into the trench for measurements.
As I was decending my right foot slipped akwardly and I felt a pop in my knee, my leg buckled and I fell roughly 2 meters down into the trench and I landed on my feet but on my buckled leg. talk about pain!!!
I immediately called 911 and had the operator build a declination with rock on top for paramedics to reach me as there was no way I could get out of the trench.
It was along hour laying in the bottom of the trench but the crew was a great help.
Diagnosis hasnt been made, but there is obvious damage to the patella, MCL and ACL.
Ill be re assessed tomorrow and likely shipped out for an MRI.
Thanks for your concern.
There was likely a much better method than I chose, in hindsight
Ouch. My 16 year old daughter was injured in soccer she had ACL surgery last month. Doctors tell her no soccer for steady 12 weeks.
Darn those operators!
Have you ever taken an 'elevator ride' in one? I have to get to the other side of a fence 😀

Ya at -5 F I'm sitting inside too.... inside my house.
Awe. My thoughts to your daughter. Thats a serious bummer for a child. I hope she heals quickly!
Ive done the "elevator ride" rock crushin. its fun but dangerous and illegal here.
Used to do it all the time in the oilfeilds(usually on the loader though)
Thats when I was a young buck ie 18. ide never do that now
My first major dip into CAD was when I had a broken shoulder (not work related).
Seeing things from a field perspective, and now an office perspective, will make you much more valuable to the company theoretically. Make the best of it, and fast healing to ya.
Still waiting on MRI results but ive been off work since my injury.
Such a bummer
That really sucks. I must have at least one opportunity a day to break my leg if I'm not careful. Particularly around construction sites, man, you have to have eyes on the back of your head surveying around heavy equipment. Three years ago I fell on some overflow ice covered with snow and went down hard on my wrist and it still gives me trouble, have to wear a brace when it acts up. If you're laid up and have time maybe get some books on surveying and familiarize yourself with techniques used. It would help you pick things up faster when you get back in the game. Take care and good luck. Only have one body to get you through.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Just a quick update. MRI showed what I was suspecting. Complete tear of the ACL.
Now, 2 weeks later, the shocker...
My femur is broken!
No wonder the pain was greater than it should have been!!!!
Heading out to thunderbay for emergency surgery to reset the bone and scope the ACL.
xmas in the hospital!!!! Smdm
wow! hang in, my condolences
Being a one-man band, that would cost me tens of thousands of dollars.
Sorry to hear that. I hope you have a quick recovery.

Or my livelihood.
I move a lot slower now then when I was 24. Partly because I just ain't as good as I once was. Mostly because I see risk a lot differently.

Same here...

Florida is the same. Don't need a PLS/RLS to preform construction staking. Many large construction firms will hire a PLS on a job by job basis.
