If the NCEES website says I passed the "UNKNOWN" exam, does that mean the state specific?

Congrats on passing..... something ....

Just guessing but I bet passing whatever it was you passed is better than passing say... a kidney stone. 😉

It's more than likely a "glitch in the matrix". The Washington state specific exam results won't be posted on the NCEES site (unless something has changed). You'll get an email directly from the state board with the results and it likely won't be for at least another month or two. I took the national and WA state specific exam in the spring and it took about 3 months for the state board to release the results.

I doubt it. State tests are not seen by the NCEES. Hang in there a little longer.

There will be a board meeting to approve the exam results before you get notification of those results. There is a meeting of the WA state board scheduled for Dec 10-11. Expect something 3-4 days later.

Excellent point Geezer. Permit me to amend my original statement.

Passing any of the exams is better than having to pass a kidney stone. 😉

Michigan uses a computer system for the exam. It lets you go back to any question just as a paper exam would. I finished hours early and went back through it twice. When you are happy with all your answers, you click on the finished button and 2 seconds later it tells you if you passed. Setting there staring at the screen that says "Are You Sure You Want to Quit and Submit your Exam for Scoring?" was a moment I will never forget.
But waiting months for the results must be even worse. :'(

Best part was I walked into the testing center a crew chief, walked out a PLS. 😀

Given your Lat and Long...

I emailed NCEES for clarification, and turns out it was indeed the PS exam that I passed.

So, WOOHOO! All you other test-takers check your MyNCEES dashboard and I hope you passed, too!

Kali is in the works, at least for a bit. Mrs. Bubble seems to be moving there, I probably ought to help. My big idea right now is to get to Klamath Falls and get that ABET accredited geomatics degree, so I can teach, at least at the community college level.

Technically You Did Not Yet Pass

The wording was funny because as I recall, you have not technically passed the PLS until the state through which you applied accepts that score. I do not think there has ever been a case of the state changing a score but there are other things that you could do wrong that a state might hold your feet to the fire for.

Any way congratulations for passing the PS exam and hopefully the state will say you passed the PLS exam as well.

The rules seem to change every few years. I recall getting a letter from NCEES that included my passing scores for the FS, PS and PA state specific before the state was informed.

Given your Lat and Long...

You're probably aware of the two ABET accredited programs in CA. Geomatics Engineering at CSU Fresno and Geospatial Engineering option in Civil at Cal Poly Pomona.

Fresno student here and I can vouch for the program. The guys/gals I've met from Pomona seem to like theirs, too. Not trying to put the hard sell on you but if you're headed to CA, think about it! 😀
