I am working on a pad site for some natural gas wells. The well names are BC South, Del Boca Vista and Vandelay. I'm thinking, this can't be a coincidence. BC South stands for Bear Creek, the general area near DFW Airport and a nearby stream. Del Boca Vista and Vandelay sound strongly familiar. Then it hits me as I see the name of the pad site is Kramer. Nice mid-afternoon chuckle.

That particular name play is outside my fund of knowledge.:-(

Art Vandelay is an importer/exporter specializing in latex products and I think has a side business in architecture.

Del Boca Vista is a retirement community in Florida where old people go to die.

Cosmo Kramer ran for the homeowner's association board of Del Boca Vista in 1994, I believe.

I used to work in aviation and you wouldn't believe some of the airways waypoint names people have got away with over the years, this is in the serious, official world of public transport! Waypoints are assigned a five letter code and it doesn't take long until you run out of geographical references and the creativity of the bored chart makers take over. There's cultural variation too, slang comes into it and the military roots of much of present day civil aviation.

In the US, BARBQ, BEBOP, JAPSI, FRIES, NARCO, MINGE, RANDI, SANTA and so on....

West of the UK, BOLOX, SOXON
