If the price quoted in the article, 150 grand, is in New Zealand bucks, I'd say you need about 121,000 US Dollars more than a pair of aviator glasses. I wonder if the price didn't get inflated as the story was told to the reporter. I also wonder what the mean-time-to-crash is for the airplane.

There are a few of these stories floating around but they are all European. FAA regulations forbid using these things (for commercial purposes) at the appropriate altitudes in the US.

My brother sent me pictures of surveyors using remote control helicopters for aerial surveying on the North Island NZ...Dang, that must have been five or six years ago now..
Wow, I could even ind the pictures! Talk about small miracles!
