I deal with RR crossings fairly frequently and have good contact info for the major carriers in my little corner of the world. Sometimes I find myself out in rural Oklahoma dealing with rail lines that even the ownership is in question. Trying to determine a Mile Post location can get tricky. Although most carriers mark the MP info on their signal equipment at public crossings, those can be thirty or forty miles apart.

I found this map the other day an it really helps out in those situations. If it helps anybody else out, the effort has been worthwhile.

For me, the most reliable information in regard to physical structures have been the bridges.

Thru the decades of repair and maintenance, those are the things that move the least.

If you use arcgis you can connect to the site as an arcgis server Folder: /
Although it's a little spotty.
