I just upgraded all my equipment to?ÿ latest 3.2 version and noted that some improvements were made in Anti-theft option.

This option was added actually in 2.3 version but I personally never came across of it.

I was wondering if anyone do utilize it and how it protects the robotic total station all of us have to leave of the street and being far away from it.

P.S. The license keys are required so this is a subject of additional payment which might worse to pay if it is in fact could protect the total station.

Thank you in advance for sharing.

I saw that in the PDF notes that came with the update - I never saw it before either

I looked up the answer in the tech manual for the 3.0 software - the instrument will start emitting a sound ( loudest setting) if the instrument becomes unlevel for more that 3 seconds - you can setup a hot key to enable and disable

reading the section there is also and option to lock the instrument after 3, 6 or 12 months - to unlock it it has to be connected back to my world - that way the thief gets a boat anchor

I might set that up on my MS60

The alarm app is a paid for option, any idea how much it is??ÿ Wouldn't you have thought that if Leica wanted to be seen to be doing the right thing it would be free!

If the battery is pulled the alarm stops.?ÿ

More interestingly, I have heard that a retrofit tracking security system is imminent.

It sounds like a good feature but the question is how loud it is and how it is going to help us if we are a 1000' away from total station.
