I currently use SCS900 software, but I'm considering a switch to Access. One of the issues with SCS900 is the traverse routine. I am not happy with it, and as a result I am still using Survey Pro to run my traverses. I then import the raw data into Carlson Survnet and do a least squares adjustment. I insist on doing least squares adjustments due to the fact that it doesn't limit how I make my observations. I can run a traverse between two GPS pairs, in any order, and then run sub-traverse lines, connecting lines, etc. without any issue.?ÿ
Does anyone have experience running a traverse in Access, and then doing a least squares adjustment in TBC? My local trimble tech said that Access does least squares traverse adjustment in the collector, but I doubt that. I did see that it does least squares averageing of observations to the same point, but I don't think it applies to traverse (Mean Turned Angle) observations. Also does Access allow you to export raw traverse data, so that I can bring it in to Survnet??ÿ
I appreciate any input, I am trying to decide whether or not to make the switch back to the "survey" side of trimble.
Also, since I am used to using the SCS900 design/workorder format, do you have to redo the station setup in access after switching to a new job?
Thanks!
Access absolutely allows you to export raw observation data. I have done it many times and made adjustments in StarNet. I'm sure that you would have no problem doing so with SurvNet.
Access and TBC are peas in a pod.?ÿ
BTW, you can export trimble format jxl files from your Survey Pro for import to TBC.?ÿ
On my trimble I use the function measure rounds to measure multiple sets of angles and distance.?ÿ
I do not use onboard for any adjustments and download the raw data and process them in Starnet. I would think Carlson is able to read in Trimble files as well if not you can output as SDR33. I mainly use SDR33 as an output as it is a legacy thing (one where we understand the format and able to read the format) in my office, but you can use any raw data file format you are used too.?ÿ
