Has anyone seen the 530 suddenly boot up for a few seconds, and then sort of go dead? I have latest 5.2 firmware.
It always seemed that we would remove the power to it and re-set the terminal and that would start up with it.
We did have one unit however that did the same thing and it was one of the boards had to be replaced. Around $2000-$3000 if I remember correctly. But it would always power on and say something link TR500 Connecting................. and thats all it would do.
Sounds like a power issue, will it work if you connect via cable?

I see on the website of ?Institut Géographique National du ?République du Mali, they seem to have only one of that model. If you don't want to repair it, perhaps they'd accept the donation. (Their picture is of one 530 along with a Newtonian telescope on their rooftop ...)
