I received my approval letter to take the KY exam in September. I was wondering if anyone here has the reference material in a word document or a complete pdf that they would be willing to share. I looked through the links that the board recommends and all the data is in a pdf format in separate sections and not in full chapter formats. I have started to copy and paste but it may take some time. So just thought I would ask - perhaps someone who took it last spring may have it already?

Also anyone who has any suggestions of particulars that I need to study would also gladly be accepted.

Thanks,

Ryan

Ryan,

You might contact the Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors. They might have something.

This is the next state that I am considering applying for licensure in. That will probably be it for me.

How did you do on the Missouri exam? I was thankful I passed this time.

Good luck,
Jimmy

The Kentucky State exam is broken down into 10 categories:
Mining/Oil & Gas. 4%
KRS 322 license law. 22%
KRS 18:150 Standards of Practice. 24%
Roads and bridge questions 4%
Boundary Law. 18%
Land Systems. 4%
Coordinate systems 8%
Civil procedures. 4%
Code of Conduct (ethics) 8%
Misc. questions 4%

50 questions, passing is 70%

You can get a copy of KRS 18:150 from the Kentucky Board of Licensure web site and you can get a copy of KRS 322 Dr the web. The Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyor sell a Kentucky Case Law book, visit there web site. Kentucky land systems information can be found at the Kentucky Secretary of State web site. Code of Conduct can be found in KRS 18:142

Hope this helps.

Edit the edit

Just to clarify the Standards of Practice are at 201 KAR 18:150 (not KRS 18:150)
*previous edit left out 201

This is asked occasionally, so maybe someone will have compiled it and can help. In the mean time, if it is of any help to you, you can get some of that information in one nicely formatted file from the KAPS website:

http://www.kaps1.com/standards/

The material recommended by the BOL pretty well covers what you should need to know.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the info. I went to the site and downloaded the standards. I plan to compress all the files into one pdf for future use.
