...and I am ready to hit the hay.
Thought I would stop in and change my signature line since I was unable to login to beerleg from the pathetic hotel business center computer. Not sure how what the correct format is for my signature. Is it title, state, state? Or is it title, state & state? Suggestions welcome. Arkansas is next.
Best Regards,
Timothy Nold, RPLS, TX, ND
Congrats! (I think 😉 )
Let's all join Andy in the North Dakota state song!
N is for the N in North Dakota!
O is for the O in North Dakota!
R is for the R in North Dakota!
T is for the T in North Dakota!
H is for the H ...... 😛
and your arms must be tired.
I started to post that last night but thought better of it. If I would have "just drove in from Bismarck", then I would normally say "and boy are my cattle tired".
Yep, I passed the ND test. First try with an 85. I thought a 2 hour, 60 question open book test would have been a cake walk, but I noticed I had skipped several questions my first time through. I went back to work the skips one at a time and by the time all the questions were answered I had about 10 minutes left.
I think they are pretty busy there. There was a total of 4 of us taking the test on Monday. Lots of work in western part of the state.
Congrats on passing the exam. Your brain must be as tired as your arms.
Red Skelton was famous for a similar line when he was imitating two sea gulls. For $1 million: What were the names of the sea gulls?
gertrude and heathcliff
(saw Red perform this little ditty while dining with a group of about 12 at a restaurant in Scottsdale 1978)
Gertrude & Heathcliff, I'll take it in cash please.
Why is it that when I read the question, those names from decades ago popped into my mind without a second's hesitation, but I can't remember what I did last Thursday?

Congrats Andy!!
Did they grade it on the spot? I guess maybe they can for the State portion, but I don't think Virginia would. I'm thinking about getting my WV license, and then that would be all for me. How many do you think you'll end up with? Assuming you pass all that you want?
Carl
I feel your pain, sometimes I can't remember what I had for dinner last night. :-O
Congrats,
Now go dig for some of that Black Gold.
I like Parentheses encapsulating the states in my sig.
Ah, that looks simple enough.
What is a little annoying for someone as OCD as I am is that it is RPLS in Tx, PLS in ND and other states vary on the name of the title (PSM, anyone?).
Yes. It took about 15-20 minutes to get the grades, congratulatory letter, certificate and pocket card. They had one folder for each test taker, but I noticed only three of their distinctive blue certs. 75% passing rate this time. This is my first PLSS state.
I have made application to take Arkansas and Oklahoma this year. I might try to throw in Nebraska or another before the end of the year. I was told to get every state between Texas and Canada, so looks like ND is the first of many.
I am curious what the record is for most state licenses in one year. Anybody want to claim the record? Also, it's fun to talk about, but I do take seriously my obligation to perform survey work to local requirements. Quantity will always take a backseat to quality.

PSM = Professional Surveyor & Mapper - Florida.
I am a RPLS - TX & OK
LLS - KS
PS - NM
RLS - AZ
PLS - CA
and currently working on a LA application.
Getting fun to keep track of everything.

I don't know about a record, but in the last year, I have obtained licensure in 4 states. VA, KY, AR and WV. I am also licensed in GA.
I just use PS.
Congratulations Andy. As mentioned above it’s PSM in Florida, Professional Surveyor and Mapper. Back in the olden days surveyors (me) that became registered in FL we were called PLS’s. The "Board" changed the terminology to accommodate aerial photogrammetrist's. That same "Board" also had a tendency to change Florida's minimum technical standards every fifteen minutes or so. Nobody knew what in hell to do!
Have a great week

Sounds like some people are getting ready for something big to come down the pipe after November.
I'm quite content with LS and one State.
