Finally the carriage drive band is in place and the plotter is plotting.
The ribbon arrived Monday but I've been laid up this week with a bug. I finally asked my son to install it and he did it last night for me.
I want to thank those that assisted me with this effort, in particular Stephen Ward and Michael Lacy, both of whom sent the shop manual!

My HP5500 is giving me this error right now and has stopped printing. I'm going to try to replace the belt this weekend I think. Any advice?
