Typically when I send our crew out we send them with a laptop so he can pull the csv of points off the D.C. bring in to Carlson for calculating look for or set points (this PC is a SIT). Then we review back in the office at the end of the day. On difficult jobs we have him upload the data to google driven so we can review and talk through the issues while he is in the field.
We are in the process of promoting another party chief. I don't want to pay for another laptop with Carlson or really a laptop in general. There are some jobs that we don't need a return trip so i want to review the data before they leave the job.

Can you Bluetooth the data to your iPhone? What about a cheap tablet?

All of my crews have an iPad with a data plan for remote coordination between the office and the field. It works okay but the way iOS sandboxes data within apps frustrates me, I'm hoping iOS 11 makes this a little better. Looking back I wish I had gone with Samsung tablets. They have a built in SD card reader so the guys could pop the SD card out of the DC and into the tab to transfer files. The tabs work great for viewing point plots, construction plans and taking site documentation pictures. We're nearly 100% paperless between the office and field.

The answer to that will depend on what you're using to collect the data. With my Trimble tablet (running Windows7) I've installed Dropbox and I export files to the Dropbox folder. If I have WiFi the files upload instantly.
For everyone using phones or tablets to upload, I'd look at a bluetooth connection between the dc and tablet/phone if possible or one of the new thumb-drives that have standard USB on one end and Apple lightning or micro-USB on the other.

I'm a nerd, so I browse the electronics section at the office supply store and the big box electronics store from time to time. Makes my wife crazy that the only time I will shop is for survey toys or electronics, otherwise I'm a man on a mission....Get what I need and get out.:D

We use ProfiMail on a TSC3 and a Gmail account to email back and fourth. Free and fast.
Q: How is every one getting field data from the field to the office?
A: Pick-up truck and/or Jeep depending on what vehicle the data collector is in 😉

Since I'm solo, I use the same dependable method as James (2003 Ford Ranger in my case). My storage devices are ATA flash cards for the GPS receivers and a Rite-In-The-Rain field book for my traverses. 🙂
If you're using a TSC3 with a data connection, you can set up email and send a point file directly from the DC, no other device necessary.
Field Tablets via Pony Express.
Sometimes via Telegraph, IF the crew is near the Railroad.
