Hi,
So recently I started recording static data for topcon Hiper V receivers, where one is used as a base station and the other is used as a receiver. Its easy setting up the base station but am finding it difficult trying to setup the receiver. We are trying to gather GCP points for our aerial survey and we use these GCP points basically to geo-reference and accurately represent the map on the ground. The thing is once I get the receiver recording autonomously how do I get it to mark the separate GCP points(using a FC-500)??? Once the receiver is setup to record autonomously am not sure to stop and start it for the GCP's to be recorded. I have attached an image of what appears on the FC-500 once we try and record our first GCP. It just tells us to wait for 10mins and then after the countdown is done then we just wait... so really dont know what to do from that point. I have checked on topcon support but they have not been helpful, basically just redirecting me elsewhere. I have seen many people get surveying answers using this forum and am hoping the same!

Static files are stored in the receiver. Your dealer can explain in detail

I know static files are stored in the receiver, but how do I tell the receiver that this point that I have put the receiver on for it to treat as one gcp, and then collect more GCP's. My question is should I record autonomously for the base and receiver or only for the base and not for the receiver? Reason being am not sure how to record GCP points on the receiver once I have setup the profile for the receiver to record autonomously.

Anarefj,

Your questions show your lack of knowledge with Topcon survey grade GNSS equipment. This is why you are getting directed to your equipment dealer. It would take many threads here to explain this. Many of which have already been written. Try search this site.

I provide training for surveyors and contractors using Topcon equipment. I see you are using Magnet. So if you can not get adequate training from your dealer, then contact me.

A nice even tempered well written response, especially given your recent experiences.
