I upgraded to TBC 2.7 early this week. Seemed to be OK. But, when I exported to excel the baseline processor report, it is completely changed and NOT functioning properly.

It now puts each baseline on a separate sheet, and puts the values in different columns than previously. Well, I could deal with that (albeit with a lot of tedious reprogramming). The first page, as previously, has a "document map" that gives a link to the sheet where each baseline is output. But, there is a bug. A portion of each baseline gets placed on the previous sheet, and if you follow each link it takes you to the sheet that starts in the middle of the output for that baseline. So, each baseline is spread across multiple sheets with incorrect links in the document maps.

Why do I care? Because I have setup workflows that absolutely depend on being able to get this info out of the excel file. In TGO, all of this data was contained in a microsoft access database, which was real easy to read. I was really pissed when they got rid of that to go to TBC, and in fact that kept me from switching for quite a while. but, I finally switched, and spent a lot of hours getting everything setup to read it from excel.

I need to uninstall 2.7 and reinstall 2.6, but I do not have the old install program, nor could I find a link on their website. Does anyone have a link to the FULL install for 2.6?

I have the file (TBC_2_60_Full.exe), but it's 1.3GB. If you can't find it elsewhere let me know and I'll choke it through my 1.5Mbs upstream connection to a download site.

Jim: I would really appreciate it if you could send it (maybe when you go to bed, let it crank??

I will send you a link via email where to send it (if you can, if not I understand).

I did find another way to do it (not simple, though). If I open the baseline processing report in a web viewer instead of the report window, I can save it as html. It saves a separate html file for each baseline. Now I just need to recode everything to read the html file rather than the excel. Since I haven't done much of that, I will need to do some experimenting on the best way to read an html (and ignore all of the formatting codes).

Uploading now. It's going slowly -- more slowly than my connection -- so there may be a YouSendIt upload speed limitation. Right now it's at 2% with almost 6 hours shown remaining. Let's hope things speed up as the upload progresses.

That's the way I used to handle TGO output, because I wasn't able to find the information I wanted in the Access database. The HTML is a lot to wade through, but it's pretty straightforward text parsing and easy to automate. I did get kind of annoyed when they changed the HTML formatting between TGO v1.5 and 1.62, because I had then to build in a version test to apply the correct filters.

I think I have the CD down at the office. If you still need it tomorrow morning let me know and I will mail it to you if you can wait that long.

Jim: thanks very much! I really appreciate it. It took 10 minutes for me to download it from yousendit, but then again I have a FIOS connection, which is 25M up/25M down.

I just taught a day and a half long class on TBC this week down in DC, and I used 2.70. One of the guys in the class had 2.6. He was getting a float solution on a line that we were getting a good fix solution. So, it appears that they tweaked the processor as well as whatever other things they added.

I hiope they fix this problem asap. However, I don't see any easy way to let them know about this (other than if they read it here!).

A few months ago I posted on their facebook page about a similar issue, where the columns would vary depending on whether you included satellite residuals or not. The person who maintains that page said he was going to pass it up to a development engineer, but I never heard anything further.

jeez louise. I went to a TBC training in the first week of april, they made it clear that they wanted us to have 2.5 loaded before we got there. When we arrived they handed us a 2.6 disk to install and said it was still in beta. That was a whole 25 days ago 🙁

I think they meant 2.7 was in Beta. I have been using 2.6 for a while, and it was not a beta.

One little tip for those installing for the first time. The day I got to the class (Tuesday), they had just received their software (I think it was 6 copies, with keys). A couple of the guys already had earlier versions installed, but nothing recent.

So, they installed, and then the keys were not showing up as activated, even though they supposedly were. In the license screen, there is a dropdown box that by default says automatic. Change that to local machine (or local something, I don't remember), and then it will find the license. It was asking for a 19 digit activation code, which nobody had.

Im pretty sure it was 2.6 It was HCE if that makes a difference. They gave me a 19 digit code for a 30 day trial that did not work there, but since Ive gotten back it works. Our company purchased so many licenses that we can check out as needed, so I am running on those now.

Yea, could have been HCE. Not sure what the differences are.

I did receive an email from the facebook/TBC person that he was going to look into the problem with the excel output. So they are paying attention!

It is local hardware.... and when you change that setting, you have to exit TBC and then restart TBC.

I upgraded to 2.7 a week or so ago, seems to process baselines well, but I don't do the exporting to Excell that you do, John.

I have to agree with Brad...what a wonderful resource BeerLeg is...

Have a great weekend.

Solved!

Mike Potterfield emailed me and said he wasn't seeing the multiple sheets. So, after he looked at mine, he pointed out that the difference was I was including tracking info and satellite residuals. I removed those, and it was back to all being on one sheet. The NAME of the sheet changed, and about half of the data fields got moved to different columns, but that was easy to fix.

So, i am back to being able to read the excel output. But, i still think they shouldn't move the columns around. or even better, export to an access database file that has named fields. Much easier to work with.

Solved!

Now that you and Mike have pioneered the way on this, I've decided to install v2.70. Thanks for taking the first hit!
