I was wondering what GPS devise you guys use to measure elevations and prepare the EC.

I'm still using the total station to bring the elevation from nearby benchmarks to the site.

Depends. If I am providing other services, I'll burn a static session for however long I'm there. Otherwise, three time separated network RTK burns for four minutes with the rod rotated roughly 120 deg each time. I'm looking for better than a tenth of a foot at the 95% confidence level. I've not had an EC that needed better due to the BFE falling within FEMA's rounding error, but if so I'd run a level from a NGS BM.

Trimble unit connected to the Trimble network has been within one-tenth of a foot of reported data many times. Always check into two known benchmarks that are not TOO far away

Did you see what i did there? Into, two and too all in the same sentence.

Do a search for RTK receivers and static GPS antennae and their cost. That will be your answer. They all get used by someone.
