A friend pointed out this classic bit of wordsmithing on a 1971 survey:

Nothing like citing the Glomar Denial to wash your hands of any liability.

I shared this map with the other PLS in my office and this was his response:

"That would make for an interesting deed. You are receiving this property but we cannot guarantee if the parcel is here or thereƒ??.."

hahahahahaha, that's good

Honestly, who abbreviates "between"??ÿ

Also, that's great. I'm using this note on everything I sign moving forward.

@drew-r

Exactly! Or why abbreviate "Found" when it's spelled out in the (sparse) legend above. That's always been a bone of contention with me... there is lots and lots of blank white space left on the mylar. Why not just spell every word out unless (1) it is physically exhausting to do so or (2) the client is monetarily docking you for every single letter written on the survey. If (1), then you need to get yourself in the physical shape necessary to type out a couple three additional letters and if (2) you should renegotiate your contract and remove the letters-per-page-penalty you currently work under.?ÿ

It may be just me but I'd say the spelling "niether" makes it null and void.

We can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the information requested but, hypothetically, if such data were to exist, the subject matter would be classified, and could not be disclosed.

@drew-r It looks like he started lettering, and realized he was getting close to the edge of the page and had to tighten it up.?ÿ I guess he didn't want to start a new line??ÿ That one statement has generated so many questions!
