i own a Geodimeter 4000 complete with RPU but it lost its "Firmware" because of empty 3 V Battery. Now i am looking for someone owning a running 4000. I want to read out some data and try to get my one running again. So please if someone has a running one please write PM..

Did you try contacting your Trimble dealer??ÿ It's a product well out of service. They might be able to connect you with the right person if Trimble might have the info somewhere.

Yes i did.. they told me download page with "constant File" individual made for every instrument is switched off for years - so no chance to get it run again.
But we will see whats possible and what not :)?ÿ
One Dealer said it might possible if i would find the dealer who made service at exactly this Geodimeter, maybe they made a local copy of this file and keep it till today. This one was used by German Telekom, they had central Service for their instruments at Spectra Darmstadt. This Company was sold several times, there is no one still working from old "Geodimeter Team" - so this chance is gone..?ÿ
GDM 4000 and GDM500 are quite simular ( same Hardware ) so a working 500 would be helpful as well. These Files are individual made to each intrument because there are "small" production differences at angular Sensor, EDM and Compensator, these might be corrected by individual files. I dont want to measure about 2 km with this beast.. only get it run again and see what is possible with it..

The Orange Anchor moves again 🙂 Together with a forum member after months of Firmware disassembling we get it run again, not in all points but generally it works.?ÿ
Does anyone have manuals from this Generation ? On Internet research i only found manuals from 400/500/600 but nothing about 4000 and its RPU. Station itself is very simular to 500.. so there i have orientation but this RPU handling is not described. Would be very helpful to get some informations about RPU, try and error is very hard :).
I have the 4000 system User Manual, so I could scan any sections you want.
