Plotter annotation

Medium size engineering firm, not known for quality. I suspect their belief is shoving it out the door and paying for mistakes is cheaper than checking anything. For years I've noticed their survey drawings are obviously computer drawn for linework but hand annotated. Two successive lines, one short and one long, will have the same bearing and distance. Two obviously diverging lines will have the same bearing. Sending data to the plotter ought to match the COGO calculations exactly, I would think. I know mine does.
