Good Morning Everyone

So?ÿour current ongoing dilemma?ÿ with Leica, their CS20, TS16, Captivate.....continues

Does anyone, or has anyone, attempted to use the CS20 with Carlson and a geocom license, with a TS16...?ÿ So far, everyone I have talked to is using the CS15 with Carlson ?ÿto control the TS16, and they are wishing they could use the CS20..

I am not a programmer, just a simple little surveyor.?ÿ I don't for the life of me understand why the Leica CS15 is the only possible controller option for the TS16...

?ÿ

Any insights, thoughts, ideas will be gladly accepted...

?ÿ

Thanks

Seth

Seth,

I am currently running TS16 & CS20 and I am actually extremely?ÿ happy with this layout and?ÿ Captivated?ÿ software.

It is just learning curve and after that you are good to go.

I utilized in the past TDS on board software and then Viva but I never work with Carlson so not sure why it could perform better than Captivated.?ÿ

I am pretty sure you also will be happy with this layout after some training.

I did have Geocom on TS15 but never utilized it so I would check with Leica if you could have it on TS16 if you still would like to run third party software but I would better learn Leica software versus doing this.

to Greg Kogan...Id be curious if you had solutions to these issues...?ÿPlease explain what procedure you would use to book individual angles in a set, and what angle you are booking, whether the angle is from the instrument reading or data collector reading? Is is angle right from zero or azimuth...Also which distance do you book, the same distance either horizontal or slope, can and will be different between collector and instrument...?ÿ I have not found where I could do these things... neither could our rep from Kuker Ranken, or one of the many techs from Leica...

I would think your dealer would get you up and running......

Our dealer set us up with TS-16, Geocom, and Carlson Surveyor II .?ÿ We didn't experience any problems with communication, once they got us up and running.

Travis Point.... What software is running onboard the TS16, Captivate, Viva, or GeoMax??ÿ What instrument do you choose in Carlson??ÿ It was my understanding that Carlson did not have a license to run the TS16?

?ÿ

Thanks

I only use this set up as robotic (one man crew) so hopefully we are talking about the same thing.

Accordingly?ÿ I am only taking all information from data collector.

I usually do not double angles (did maybe a couple times) but ones again I taking all info from data collector.

The rest stuff is matter of setting:

Go to settings-customization-user defined pages-select edit on next screen.

Here you can set anything you want in the order you prefer (see attached)

If you go from setting screen to "Regional"and select Angle tab than you could select anything that works for as a angle (see attached)?ÿ
