So I'm putting together corner records and I'm picking out the photo to put on the NE corner of Sec 10. I had found notches for the south face and looked at each stone and didn't see anything I liked for the east face. Then I'm looking at a picture and there it was, can't believe I missed it:

two notches, just like the notes say.
It's kind of like looking for morel mushrooms in the woods. You'd swear there's none around...then when you finally see one...HELLO...you see them all.
I should have buried that portion of the stone along with the south face portion, oh well, I ain't going back there, it was hard enough to get to it as it was+o(
There are a million and one tricks for 'seeing' notches and scribings. We all have our favorite. One that I have used is photograph with my phone and look at the photo. I had one that we swore was bare until I pulled that trick. The text "AP2 S11" was clear as day on the phone. 35 years of surveying and I still get goosebumps finding rocks...
I cleaned it off, I had a brush but I hate using it on those really soft stones too much, somehow I didn't see those two notches, but I see em now:-O
