I have a need for a tree canopy survey in the Asheville, NC area for a cell tower site.?ÿ Haywood County is requiring the average tree canopy within a 500ƒ?? radius of the proposed tower.?ÿ Are there any surveyors on here that offer drone services in the Asheville area??ÿ I donƒ??t think a ground elevation is needed or the actual tree heights, just an elevation on the tree tops so that the tower can be designed not to exceed 60ƒ?? above the tree canopy.?ÿ I have done several of these with a TS in the past, but thought this would be a good application for a drone.

Is this a viable option for a drone?

The point cloud might work really well for your project, you wouldn't have to do much sorting/classifying to the point cloud to get to bare earth like you would in other drone projects.

We could do it but the mob/de-mob cost would probably be too high for such a small project. It's a perfect application for either photo or lidar.

I have talked to a local surveyor that Adam knows that is willing to do it.

Thanks everyone.
