I am little by little trying to learn TBC after MANY years of using TGO.
I cannot figure out how to download a .T02 file from a R8 GNSS receiver that contains GLONASS data. My understanding (could be wrong!) is that the only way to get the Glonass data along with GPS out of the R8 is somehow through TBC. Data Transfer (latest version) just shows .T01 files. I assume the R8 collects Glonass data, I never really looked at it before since TGO does not handle Glonass. The general tab in GPSconfigurator has "track Glonass" checked.
When I used a TSC2 running survey controller to collect data on board, it created a .t02 file. But, I typically do not use a DC for static, rather I prefer to let the receiver autostart logging on power-up and store data onboard.
I started TBC, and cannot see any way to directly connect to the receiver.
So, how is this done?
My rep told me it won't log the data since tgo cant handle it. Maybe you need to upgrade the firmware to be able to log the glonass sats.
Your rep was wrong. They will log any data that they were designed to, unless you use GPS configurator to configure them otherwise. You need to download the free Trimble Data transfer program. Trimbe Data Transfer
In TBC you can also press F10, but you will need to set up the R8 as a serial device to be able to download from it.
Adam: I do have the latest data transfer. Where is the option to download glonass data in data transfer? Only T01 files show up, the T02 do not.

R8 GNSS absolutely track and log Glonass data....
TBC processes it just fine.
John, an easy way around this would be to download the .t02 files from the R8 to Survey Controller.
Connect Survey Controller to the R8 by cable or Bluetooth....tap the Instrument button (lower right) on the main screen of SC....>Reciever Files>Import(or Download) from reciever and suck them into the Trimble Data folder of the TSC2.
Then just activesyn them to your computer...you can drag and drop them directly into the project pane of TBC.
Or you can download directly from the R8 as suggested earlier.
The only option to log Glonass data would be in your survey style....check box to track Glonass...or check as you did in GPS Configurator.
No option that I know of to download it specifically...
If it is there...it downloads it.
I only import the T01 or DAT file and I always get GLONASS data in the project. In fact, that is how Trimble teaches you to do it with the sample data. I usually only use the TO1 file.
If you read the note on the T02 file in the help files, Galileo (when available) will not be processed from T02 files.
