Or maybe can be recelled with this battery technology?

I have an external 12V 10Ah LiFePO4 via cable either way, but sure would be nice if could get better smaller GEB121 6V batteries also besides the GARBAGE below which only last an hour or so maybe:

2 Pack - Replacement for Leica GEB121 Survey Instrument Battery Replacement (4200mAh 6V NIMH) - Compatible with Leica GS50 DNA03 TC407 GEB121 TCR805 SR530 TCR407 DNA10 TC805 TC405 https://a.co/d/iuDkeiB

What instrument are you running.?ÿ I'm not sure you can substitute any flavor of Lithium battery for a NiMH on board.?ÿ If you are only getting an hour on each battery I would send them back.?ÿ Either they are DOA or your instrument is drawing way to much current.?ÿ Try a Batteries+ or some online battery shop.?ÿ?ÿ

TCRA1103 PLUS.

It's the Amazon knockoffs that are garbage of course.?ÿ Most knockoffs for things aren't too bad, but these batteries just suck. I have Leica ones also that are good.

Just curious if anyone found any new LiFePO4 technology batteries to replace GEB121.?ÿ So far, nothing.

This works great though for external battery, so light and much safer:

12V 10Ah Lithium LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Battery, 2000+ Cycles Rechargeable Battery, Maintenance-Free Battery for Solar/Wind Power, Small UPS, Lighting, Power Wheels, Fish Finder and More, Built-in 10A BMS https://a.co/d/0IqI9iv

Good quality recelled GEB121s will give good service. No need to go off the reservation. I recently had one recelled by surveybattery.com and it is working fine. Cost was $70, plus a few dollars shipping.

These ultra cheap chinese knockoffs are famous for not performing.?ÿ

I think you have three options.

Option 1: Buy one from Leica - $250.

Option 2: Have recelled - $100.?ÿ ?ÿ(MM above)

Option 3: Buy new old stock Duracell DR-10 - $25.?ÿ Buy Cam corder charger also.

Yes, saw those, but you never know when only a few reviewers out of many have a negative experience.?ÿ Which is why I got them through Amazon and NOT ebay or something like that.?ÿ Can return them easily...and until Jan 30 2023 right now!?ÿ Totally worth the time especially if they had happened to work just fine.?ÿ You'll never know unless you take the risk.?ÿ Saved TONS of cash that way... I don't just overpay out of fear.?ÿ I've had overall good luck this way with everything I buy.?ÿ Yeah yeah, time is money, so don't skimp on batteries when making money and in business, I get it.?ÿ ; )

The external works just fine, just curious if there were better options these days for the internal battery packs the way battery tech as gotten much better, safer and lighter.

Seems even if possible to recell these with LiFePO4, it would also need some sort of internal circuit board for charging regulation etc.?ÿ So doesn't appear that will ever happen.?ÿ I don't think any company would start from scratch to do this just for that format/size battery since so old.?ÿ Probably just stick with the larger external anyways so don't have to worry about losing power from the smaller Leica ones which I also have.

That third option reminded me.?ÿ Not sure where I saw it, but anyone recall a battery case that would hold regular off the shelf batteries when in a bind that would fit in the Leica TPS1100 series?

Maybe you are talking about battery adapter GAD39 that uses 6xAA Batteries?

https://www.tequipment.net/LeicaGAD39.html

Probably battery adapter GAD39 will work with 1100, like text here?

https://www.ouedkniss.com/professional-tools-leica-gad39-batterie-bir-el-djir-oran-algeria-d31912849?lang=en

Recently i tested Powersmart 4200mAH camcorder Battery (PSE Code VMU002.21H).

https://www.ebay.com/itm/362016585663

Seller said it will not work with TPS1100 but i gave it a try and it worked. It has one missing charge pin compared to original leica GEB121 and like Charger GKL122 has 4 connectors for battery. I dont know what this 4th charging pin is for, but the battery charged good with GKL122 charger and after first charging with battery tester i could get 4100mAh out of it down to 5,4 Volt the battery (supposed to be 4200mAh), which i think is okay for this low price. Probably TCRA1103 turns off at maybe 6,0 Volt? and so you get probably just ~3600-3800mAh...

?ÿ

This was just ONE test, dont know how it will act in the long run, but it might be cheap alternative ????ÿ

I may venture into designing a holder and 3d printing out of ASA / ABS one day if I ever get the time and use rechargeable 6V LiFePO4 cells.?ÿ But still easier just to use a lightweight 12V 10Ah or so external battery.?ÿ May have to get a smaller Ah battery though, 100W limit for carry-on airlines.?ÿ So maybe an 8Ah. (12V x 8Ah = 96W).

I've been using these for about 8 years with my 1105 & 1205.?ÿ ?ÿThey'll run both of those guns for 12 hrs connected to SurvCE.?ÿ They've appreciated SUBSTANTIALLY in value since I first got one....
