Hi fellow surveyors,
I am looking for a copy of "Surveying Wildcat Lease Blocks in Texas, F.D. Smith, Proceedings of the Third Annual Texas Surveyors Association Short Course, 1954...anyone know where I can get it?
It is referred to in the TxDOT Surveying Manual but it is not in their directory.

Actually I think F. D also went by Dixie...

It's in one of the Short Course bound volumes from October, 1954. I once had a full-size hard copy but don't know where that is now. If you don't get any responses that can get it for you, let me know and I'll scan the short course article and send it to you.

Yes, I think I remember it being cited as Dixie Smith.

Corrected the date of the article.

Thanks, Glenn, I found it. Jim Gillis had a copy of the TSA book as well, so I scanned it myself. I sincerely appreciate the response.

Robby,

Can you email that to me? I get a request for that once in awhile. Thanks.

Please email me a copy of the scanned document. I am not in Texas, but find it interesting to see how things are done in other parts of the country.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Sorry if I misrepresented, but I only scanned the 'Wildcat Lease' chapter to send to L McChain. He got a copy from someone else first, but I figured I could offer it up to anyone else that might want it.

If I get really bored someday, maybe I'll scan the whole book. 😉

I don't know if they are still available through TSPS. I'll try to remember to look next time I'm by the pubs booth.
