Andy Warhol would be proud, even if it wasn't 15 minutes. 😛

So, was the bridge too low or was the road too high? Maybe they should have partially deflated the tires in their rig.

Being that the load was 2' too high, and too heavy I guess the demo company that hit it was just trying to get some new business.

One of those bridges was scheduled to be gone this time next week anyways, unfortunately it was the one that took the least amount of the damage.

When I was with the Highway Department I used to send the crews out every once in a while to shoot the clearances on the Interstates..they're all placarded notoriously wrong due to overlays, etc. I guess in this case (oversize load) it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Then all the engineers went to some seminar about liability and it became an issue. I went to a big meeting and was told we had to measure them all... told them we already measured them over the last three or four years. The Division Engineer wanted to know why he never got that info. I told him we had always sent that info to his office.

Sure enough, just like everything else we sent upstairs periodically..it had gotten stuffed in a file. Organization at its finest.
