Would like some info from Trimble R8 users regarding setting up the rover to access an RTN data stream. Using NTRIP, should I be using RTCM 3.x MAC for the Mount point?
any other help/links/instructions would be greatly appreciated. we have R8 GNSS Model 2 receivers and TSC2 collectors.
thanks.
what kind of network?
from the "mac" in your message, I am assumine a Leica network...
Most of the time Trimble equipment is set up using the Imax correction stream on Leica networks I am familiar with.
we need to use a Real Time Network of CORS stations. we have Trimble R8 GNSS Model 2 receivers. RTCM 3.x MAC is a data stream created using the Master-Auxilary Concept (MAC). the rover is supposed to perform a significant portion of the calcs, rover should be NTRIP capable an connect to internet via cell phone or modem, we plan on using cell phones.
Last year I prepared a set of four documents on RTK-over-internet based on the Trimble TSC2 running Survey Controller software, mayhaps one or more of those will be useful to you.
Those documents are found here and also here.
I cannot help you with the specific mountpoint, you may have to check with the network operator.
For testing, it is possible to use other RTNs even if their receivers are hundreds of miles away.

Thank you very much, I'll save these and start the learning process.
